Sorry for the downtime, it's been a busy couple of weeks. Spent the weekend with some friends up in Wilton, ME. They just bought a house for about half of what it costs where I live, and that's just depressing. But it was great to see them!

They are now expecting their first child; we just attended the first birthday of our friend's little girl, and this weekend will be attending the first birthday of yet another friend's little girl. Babies and baby birthdays all over the place. Good times.

About the only good news on the political front is that the Bush team seems to be recognizing that they are in real trouble here. I'm no expert, but it seems like the people who thought Kerry was making a mistake by staying low and taking everything Bush threw at him rather than fighting back were wrong. Kerry has taken everything and shows up at worst tied in the polls. Kerry may actually have more money left at this point than Bush. And Bush can't change the situation in Iraq overnight.
